- Don McKee is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a Master's in Engineering mechanics from Georgia Tech. He has worked as an engineer, Marine Corps fighter pilot, and professional artist, receiving both national and international First Place awards for his designs.
- Don was designated Official Sculptor for Dewar's Scotch Whisky in 1987, and has represented the company as the uniformed "Dewar Highlander" around the country. In 1999, McKee was commissioned to produce the first piece of official British State Insignia ever made outside the UK, a Collar of Office for Scotland's Lord Lyon, King of Arms. Worth $80,000, the solid gold and enameled piece weighs 2 1/2 pounds and stretches 6 feet in length.
