James H. White VI, Rocky Mountain Regional VP

Jamey and his family have been members of Clan Mackay since 2003 and have become involved in clan activities at the local games. They are also members of the Colorado St Andrews Society. James has worked the past 30 years for Denver area railroads, currently at the Union Pacific as a rail car mechanic. He was born in Los Angeles in 1957 and within the year his family moved back to Colorado, where he has resided since. He became heavily involved in bicycle racing, where he met his wife Annalee. They were married in 1988, traveled extensively in Europe and New Zealand and finally settled down to start a family. Their daughter Abigael was born in 2001 and has been keeping them busy since. They are planning an extensive trip to Scotland when their daughter turns 10 years old.

Jamey became interested in his family genealogy several years ago. His great, great grandfather, James Haulden White II worked in the shipyard at Leith. He traveled to the United States in approximately 1864 and it is believed brought seven sons with him. Although James the II returned to Scotland, most of the brothers settled in America. James Haulden White III married a Rachel Thompson on Dec 23, 1880. Rachel died in 1894 and James subsequently married Jeannie Isabell McKay. Jeannie’s father was Robert McKay born in 1846 in Scotland. This link with the Mackays prompted Jamey to join Clan Mackay and he and his extended family have been involved ever since.
