Your Genealogist, Ken Bain

Kenneth (Ken) Bain was born of Scottish ancestry in Salt Lake City, Utah
in 1935. He grew up with the knowledge of his Scottish heritage. After serving
in the United States Navy during the Korean War, Ken became a law enforcement
officer and worked in that area for nearly 40 years while becoming active in
several Scottish organizations and learning to play the pipes.
He has studied Scottish history extensively and especially Clan Mackay history
and has a strong interest in genealogy. Ken has been a member of Clan Mackay
Society, USA for many years and served as Western Region Vice President for
several years. He also has been chief of the Scottish Society of Central
California twice and has served on the board of governors for most of the last
20 years, also being chieftain of the Fresno Highland Gathering and Games for
many years. He manages the Fresno Stag & Thistle Pipe Band and teaches piping at
the high school and adult levels. He hopes to establish a main data base of the
Clan Mackay ancestry of all members of Clan Mackay USA with the principal idea
of hoping to help members in tracing their Scottish roots.
