Your Colorado Commissioner

Colorado Commissioner Rick G. Blackham and his spouse Rose.
Richard Gee Blackham
My connection with Clan Mackay comes through my mother who was a
Gee and a McGavin. My great-great grand father Lysander Gee
(originally a McGee) was an immigrant from the Asynt area in northeast Scotland and eventually settled in upper
New York State in the mid 1800s.
My mother's mother trekked across the continent with her children to settle in
the Utah/Wyoming area in 1875.
I was born in LeGrande, Oregon Jan 6, 1934 and moved to Salt Lake City Utah in 1944 where I finished
my education through College. After graduating from the University of Utah (and the Army ROTC
program) in 1957, I entered the U.S. Army. I served for 22 years as an artillery officer
retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. I served three and a half years on the German border
in the 1960's. I served two, one-year tours of duty in Vietnam. After retiring
from the military I went into the health care industry becoming the CEO of
a group of reproductive genetics corporations in Colorado and Arizona. I retired from
that business in 1999 and currently live with my wife Rose in Denver and Estes Park, Colorado. I joined the Clan
Mackay Society in 2001 at the Long's Peak Festival in Estes Park. I am an active member
and currently the adjutant of the Scottish American Military Society (SAMS) post
100 here in Colorado.
Thanks Richard, we are honored to have a defender of the United
States as an active member of the Clan
MacKay. ~~~ Clan MacKay
